🔎 Week 5 Preview — Apr 20–Apr 26

📚 Storylines to Watch

Keanu Falls From #1, Then Has To Play Without Soto. The cumulative power rankings have been recomputed and after a 4–5 all-play disaster in Week 4 (just 39 cat wins), Keanu is no longer the runaway top team. Cumulatively still #1, but the lead is real money short. And now Juan Soto is on the IL-10 with a calf, and the matchup is Nick-fil-A, who just hung an 8–2 on Good Vibes Only. The sim still gives Duke Joe a 79% win probability on rotation depth alone (Cam Sanchez, Gavin Williams, Andrew Abbott, Drew Rasmussen, Noah Cameron). But Mario gets the OBP edge (58%) and that’s the path. If Keanu drops back-to-back, the season has a story.

Ragans Walks Into Allahu Alvarez With A 9–0 All-Play Tailwind. TylerV just had the most dominant week of the season: 67 cat wins, 9–0 all-play, 8–1 demolition of Busch. Aaron Judge hit 5 HR. Mike Trout hit 5 HR. Now he draws Allahu, who lost Freddie Freeman to the NA list (Personal), and is missing Jackson Holliday (IL-10), Pivetta (IL-15), Steele (IL-60), and Logan Henderson (NA). The K edge is 90% Ragans. The QS edge is 62% Ragans. The only category Allahu wins outright is SV (75%) on the back of Diaz, Domínguez, and Helsley. Sim says Ragans 65%. The only thing keeping this from a blowout is whether TylerR’s closers can pile up enough cheap saves to drag a couple of categories back.

Busch Latte’s Pitching Staff Is Actively On Fire. Rose was already dealing with Strider, Brown, Miller, and Imai on the IL-15. Now George Springer is IL-10 (toe) and Corbin Carroll is DTD. The starters listed: George Kirby, Reynaldo López. That’s it. Two healthy active SPs to start the week. The bench has Misiorowski, Soriano, Bubic, Weathers ready to be activated, but the rotation thinness is real. Drew Rain City as the matchup, where Skenes and deGrom run a 2.14 ERA staff. Sim: Busch 75%. The all-play numbers say Rain City has been the worst hitting team in the league for two weeks running, and Busch has more than enough lineup to run them off the field. The pitching gap should be smaller than it looks because Rain City’s offense will not score enough.

OBTS Just Beat Keanu. Now They Get Ete Crow. Garth pulled the upset of the season at 24% confidence and is now 20–19–1 in the standings. Reward: a matchup with Ete Crow, who also won last week. The sim flips the favorite to Ete (67%) on the strength of an 84% K edge, 69% QS edge, and 90% SB edge. Jace just put up the league’s best RBI total (42) and now draws an OBTS team that lost SB only because they led the entire league with 11 stolen bases against a team that does not run. Two upset winners colliding. One walks out 6–3, one walks out at .500.

Good Vibes Only Plays The Buckner Boots The Week After A 0–9 All-Play Disaster. Michael lost every category to every team in the league last week. 6.72 ERA. 1.60 WHIP. Zero saves. The reward is a Buckner Boots roster that just took 14 HR and 7 QS in a 6–4 win over Allahu. Adley Rutschman just hit IL-10. Mookie Betts is still IL-10 for GVO. The sim gives Buckner 66% on basically every pitching category being flat, and the GVO offense (33 R, 8 HR last week) being the floor of the league. There is no easy game on this side of the bracket for Michael. This is the start of a stretch where GVO either turns the corner or the season ends in May.

Garth is coming off the upset of the season, a 6–3 win over Keanu where the rotation posted a 2.67 ERA and José Ramírez stole 6 bases. Skubal, Yamamoto, Sasaki, Civale, and Eovaldi headline the active staff. The lineup has Olson, Walker, Greene, Duran, and Ramírez. Carlos Rodón (IL-15: Elbow) and Trey Yesavage (IL-15: Shoulder) are the only injuries of note. The big sim tilt against him is the K column (84% Ete edge): Joe Ryan, Eury Pérez, Aaron Nola, Sonny Gray, Luzardo, and Mahle is a more strikeout-heavy mound staff than what Skubal’s group can usually produce in one week.

Ete just won 6–3 over Rain City behind 42 RBI (league best) and 9 HR. The sim has Ete favored at 57%, with the SB category at 90% and the K category at 84%. The rotation runs Joe Ryan, Eury Pérez, Ryne Nelson, Bailey Ober, and Aaron Nola, with Nolan McLean, Sonny Gray, Luzardo, and Mahle all available off the bench. Cody Bellinger (2 HR, 6 RBI) and Elly De La Cruz (2 HR, 5 R) led the Week 4 lineup. Jackson Chourio (IL-10: Hand), Matthew Boyd (IL-15: Biceps), and Josh Hader (IL-60) are the IL list. The roster is starting to look like the team that finished 1st in 2025.

Prediction: Ete Crow 6-4. The sim has Garth at 33% and the SB/K/QS canyons line up well for Jace. OBTS wins the ratios and saves but loses too much in the strikeout column to climb back. The upset window from last week closes against a team that runs more than Keanu does.

TylerV is coming off a 9–0 all-play, 8–1 H2H beatdown of Busch where Aaron Judge and Mike Trout combined for 10 HR. The rotation goes Cole Ragans, Shohei Ohtani, Cam Schlittler, Michael King, Brandon Woodruff, Mitch Keller, McClanahan, Sheehan, Gallen, Castillo. Hunter Greene (IL-60), Shane Bieber (IL-60), and Jhoan Duran (IL-15) are the absences but the depth is so wide it does not really matter. The K edge against Allahu is 90%, the QS edge is 62%, OBP is 61%. The only loss the sim sees is SV (25% Ragans) because Allahu has Edwin Díaz and Domínguez carrying the closer corps.

TylerR is a mess. Freddie Freeman (NA: Personal) is the headliner and pulls a key bat. Jackson Holliday is IL-10. Nick Pivetta is IL-15 (Forearm). Justin Steele is IL-60. Logan Henderson is NA. The rotation now leans on Logan Gilbert, Kevin Gausman, Jeffrey Springs, with Senga, Suarez, Bibee, Soroka, and Arrighetti as bench depth. Yordan Alvarez (3 HR, 6 RBI), Oneil Cruz (2 HR, 4 SB), and Christian Walker put up real Week 4 numbers. The closers (Díaz, Domínguez, Helsley) are strong enough to win SV but the rest of this matchup tilts hard to Ragans.

Prediction: The Ragans Administration 6-4. Sim says 65%. The K and QS canyons are where Allahu loses three-plus categories before the closer race even matters. Yordan and Cruz keep RBI and maybe SB close, and TylerR’s bullpen takes SV easily, but the seven Ragans pitching/hitting wins are too many to overcome.

Mario is fresh off an 8–2 hammering of Good Vibes Only. The rotation is Robbie Ray, Bryan Woo, Reid Detmers, Brady Singer, with Tyler Glasnow on the bench when healthy. Bullpen has Mason Miller (3 SV last week) and Ryan Helsley (2 SV). The lineup runs James Wood (3 HR last week), Brice Turang (3 HR, 7 RBI), Hunter Goodman, Angel Martínez, and Konnor Griffin. Gerrit Cole (IL-15), Blake Snell (IL-15), and Zach Eflin (IL-60) keep the rotation thinner than it should be. Nick gets one category outright in the sim: OBP (58%). Everything else is close or unfavorable.

Duke Joe is coming off the worst week of his season (4–5 all-play, 39 cat wins) and Juan Soto is now IL-10 (calf). The rotation is still ten-deep though: Cam Sanchez, Gavin Williams, Andrew Abbott, Drew Rasmussen, Noah Cameron starting, with Wacha, Cabrera, Baz, Fried, and Sasaki on the bench. The 90% K edge and 77% SV edge on Mason Miller’s rotation tells the story: Keanu’s pitching depth is too much for Mario’s. The lineup loses Soto’s OBP but still has Drake Baldwin (whose Week 4 was 0 HR / 7 R after his 5 HR Week 3), Nico Hoerner (10 RBI in Week 4), Byron Buxton (3 HR), and Josh Naylor.

Prediction: Keanu Reeves 6-4. Sim has Duke Joe at 79% but he just lost as a 76% favorite, so anything is possible. The path for Mario is OBP, R, and RBI all going his way along with the closer staff catching fire. Keanu wins six categories on pitching depth alone even without Soto. Mario takes one or two and the season tightens.

Michael just had the worst all-play week of any team this season: 0–9, 21 cat wins. The rotation now goes Garrett Crochet, Dylan Cease, Grant Holmes, MacKenzie Gore, Andrew Painter active, with Will Warren, Max Scherzer, Vasquez, and Bradish on the bench. Mookie Betts (IL-10: Oblique) and Brent Rooker (IL-10: Oblique) are out. Ryan Pepiot (IL-60) is gone for the foreseeable. Ben Rice (3 HR Week 4) is the main bat working. The 6.72 ERA from Week 4 was probably an outlier but the underlying roster is hollow. Sim has GVO at 34%.

Michael (the other one) just won 6–4 over Allahu with 14 HR, 7 QS, and 77 K. Trevor Rogers, Joey Cantillo, Noah Schultz, and Framber Valdez are the active starters, with Taj Bradley, Chris Sale, Logan Webb, Parker Messick, Jack Leiter, and Emerson Hancock on the bench. That is ten healthy SPs on one roster. Adley Rutschman just hit IL-10 (Ankle), but Daniel Palencia (IL-15) is the only other notable injury. Kyle Tucker (2 HR), CJ Abrams (2 HR), and Dillon Dingler (2 HR, 6 RBI) carried Week 4. Buckner is favored 66% with sweep paths through R, OBP, and QS.

Taylor has the league’s best pitching for two weeks running (2.14 ERA, 1.10 WHIP last week) and the league’s worst hitting for two weeks running (30 R, 5 HR in Week 4). Skenes, deGrom, Bryce Elder, and Seth Lugo are the active starters. The IL list (Wheeler, Lodolo) hurts but Eduardo Rodriguez, Imanaga, Merrill Kelly, and Braxton Ashcraft are bench depth. Christian Yelich (IL-10) is the offensive blow. Roman Anthony, Tatís Jr., Lindor, and Liam Hicks are the lineup. Sim has Taylor at 25%. The K edge (58%) and QS edge (53%) are the only categories that lean his way.

Rose has six pitchers either on IL or DTD: Hunter Brown (IL-15), Bryce Miller (IL-15), Spencer Strider (IL-15), Tatsuya Imai (IL-15), George Springer (IL-10), plus Corbin Carroll DTD. The active rotation for the start of the week is George Kirby and Reynaldo López. Misiorowski, Bubic, Soriano, and Weathers are on the bench and will get activated when they pitch. Sal Stewart (3 HR last week), JJ Wetherholt (2 HR, 7 R), and Carroll (1 HR) carried Week 4’s offense in a 1–8 loss. The lineup is still strong enough to win this matchup; the staff just needs to not collapse.

Prediction: Busch Latte 6-4. Sim has Rose at 75% on the strength of every offensive category. Taylor wins K and QS on Skenes/deGrom, picks up WHIP, and that is it. The hitting gap is too big and the bullpen tilt locks the SV column for Busch.

1–4 on the week with zero exact calls. The only call the sim got right was Ragans, who were favored to win and did, just by more than expected. The worst miss was Hey Holmes! 8–2 over The Buckner Boots: the sim had Buckner at 66% and instead Michael’s roster coughed up a 4.42 ERA, scored 29 runs, and got run by the team that finished 0–9 all-play the previous week. Three sim favorites lost outright. The model is calibrated for talent, not for whatever Buckner did this week.

🏆 Biggest Win
The Ragans Administration 7–2 over Allahu Alvarez, with a 9–0 all-play record and 69 cat wins out of 90. Cal Raleigh hit 4 HR with 6 R. Nick Kurtz scored 8 R with 3 HR. Aaron Judge added 2 HR and a .533 OBP. Cole Ragans struck out 11 over 6 IP at a 1.50 ERA. Landen Roupp went 12.2 IP, 13 K, 2.84 ERA. The whole roster hit and the whole rotation pitched. TylerV would have beaten every team in the league this week. Second straight 9–0 all-play week. The biggest H2H margin belonged to Hey Holmes! at 8–2, but that was Buckner imploding, not Hey Holmes! ascending. Ragans is the actual story.
💥 Choke of the Week
The Buckner Boots: 0–9 all-play, 15 cat wins out of 90, 4.42 ERA. Every team in the league would have beaten Michael this week. Every one. Five straight weeks ranked top-2 in the cumulative power rankings, and then this. Kyle Tucker put up 0 HR, 0 RBI. Steven Kwan put up 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 R. Adley Rutschman went 0-for-everything. Devin Williams gave up runs at a 16.20 ERA clip. The roster that has been a blueprint for balanced category coverage all season just delivered the worst single-week all-play record any team has posted in 2026. From a 66% favorite to losing 8–2. Variance regression incoming, but the sting is real.
🏆 Category Leaders
R
One Ball Two Strikes (44)
Matt Olson scored 7. Riley Greene scored 6. José Ramírez and Willson Contreras added 5 each. Garth’s lineup put up the most runs in the league while everyone was busy talking about his pitching staff.
HR
Nick-fil-A (14)
Junior Caminero (3 HR), James Wood (3 HR, 7 R, .485 OBP), Jac Caglianone (2 HR), Hunter Goodman (2 HR). Mario’s lineup is built on power and it showed up exactly when the sim said Keanu would close the HR gap. They didn’t.
RBI
Rain City Bombers (40)
Michael Harris II drove in 11 by himself. Manny Machado (6 RBI, 2 HR), Liam Hicks (5 RBI), Tyler Soderstrom and Will Smith (3 each). Taylor finally got the lineup contribution to match the rotation and won 7–3.
SB
Busch Latte (11)
Sal Stewart and Shohei Ohtani each stole 3. Randy Arozarena and Corbin Carroll added 2 apiece. Rose led the league in steals and somehow still lost 3–7 because the staff posted a 5.58 ERA and 1.51 WHIP.
OBP
The Ragans Administration (.364)
Aaron Judge (.533), Kevin McGonigle (.455), Nick Kurtz (.433), Cal Raleigh (.400), Mike Trout (.393). When five different hitters are above .390, OBP isn’t a category, it’s a guarantee.
K
The Ragans Administration (82)
Landen Roupp 13 K. Cole Ragans 11 K. Michael King 8 K. Shohei Ohtani 7 K. Six different starters put up at least 4 K. The whole rotation cooked.
ERA
The Ragans Administration (2.60)
Shohei Ohtani threw 6 IP of shutout ball. Cam Schlittler went 8 IP at 1.12 ERA. Cole Ragans 6 IP, 1.50 ERA. Even Mitch Keller’s 5.40 couldn’t drag the staff number above 2.60. The Ragans Administration paired the best offense with the best ERA in the same week.
WHIP
The Ragans Administration (0.97)
Sub-1.00 staff WHIP across 50+ IP. Roupp at 0.79, Ragans at 0.83, Schlittler at 0.62. Strikeouts are loud; no one gets on base is louder.
QS
The Ragans Administration (6)
Roupp, Ragans, Ohtani, King, Schlittler, and Keller (1 QS each, except Keller who got 0). Six different starters got Ragans deep into games. Closest team was OBT and Allahu at 5.
SV
Allahu Alvarez (6)
Andrés Muñoz, Seranthony Domínguez, and Louis Varland posted 2 saves each. TylerR’s closer-by-committee approach grabbed the only category that mattered against Ragans, and it was not enough.
📈 Over/Under-Performers
Overperformers
Cal Raleigh
4 HR, 6 R, 4 RBI, .400 OBP
The Ragans Administration
A catcher with 4 HR in a week. The Ragans drafted him in the middle rounds and he is somehow tied for the league lead in homers this week. The C position has been a black hole for half the league. TylerV solved it.
Nolan McLean
17 K, 11.2 IP, 3.09 ERA, 1 QS
Ete Crow
Seventeen strikeouts in two starts. Highest single-week K total in the league by anyone. Jace dropping Aaron Nola for Chase Dollander was the visible move; sticking with McLean was the smarter one.
Michael Harris II
11 RBI, 2 HR, .423 OBP
Rain City Bombers
Eleven runs driven in by one hitter. After Taylor’s lineup posted 30 R and 28 RBI in Week 4, Harris alone had 11 RBI this week. The bat finally showed up to match the Skenes/deGrom rotation.
Kyle Harrison
12 K, 6 IP, 0.00 ERA, 1 QS
Busch Latte
Added off the wire on April 26 by Rose. Twelve strikeouts and a 0.33 WHIP in his first start as a Busch arm. Did not save the matchup, but it was the cleanest single-start line in the league this week.
Foster Griffin
8 K, 7 IP, 0.00 ERA, 1 QS
One Ball Two Strikes
Picked up off the wire by Garth on April 26. Threw 7 shutout innings with 8 K and a 0.57 WHIP. The kind of waiver pickup that flips a 6–4 into a sim-busting upset of Ete Crow.
Underperformers
Buckner Boots offense
29 R, 8 HR, 21 RBI, .285 OBP
The Buckner Boots
Kyle Tucker: 0 HR, 0 RBI. Steven Kwan: 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 R. Adley Rutschman: zeroes across the board. Brandon Nimmo: 0 HR, 1 RBI. Four high-priced bats combined for nothing while Munetaka Murakami carried the offense alone.
Keanu Reeves rotation
5.37 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 3 QS
Keanu Reeves
Cristopher Sánchez 10.12 ERA. Gavin Williams 9.00 ERA. Andrew Abbott 11.25 ERA. Max Fried (12 K, 0.00 ERA) was elite. The rest of the staff handed back every gain. Two straight weeks now where Duke Joe’s pitching has been below average.
Juan Soto
0 R, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 SB (.429 OBP)
Keanu Reeves
A round-1 pick walking but not driving anything. Zero counting stats from a hitter who is supposed to be the centerpiece of the lineup. The OBP is the only thing keeping his fantasy line breathing right now.
Busch Latte rotation
5.58 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, 4 QS
Busch Latte
Kyle Harrison’s 12 K start was the lone bright spot. Reynaldo López gave up runs at 36.00 ERA before getting dropped. George Kirby posted a 1.00 WHIP but 2 K. Rose led the league in SB and HR and lost 3–7 because the staff was a fire.
🎯 Move of the Week

Garth W picking up Foster Griffin off the wire on Saturday before Week 5 ended. Griffin proceeded to throw 7 shutout innings with 8 K and a 0.57 WHIP. That single start turned a coin-flip matchup into a 6–4 upset over Ete Crow, who was a 52% sim favorite. Honorable mention to Rose adding Kyle Harrison the same day for a 12 K, 0.00 ERA, 1 QS line. Both arms came off waivers. Both delivered the cleanest pitching lines of the week. Two managers reading the wire on April 26 saw the matchup more clearly than the model did.

🔥 Week 5 All-Play Power Rankings
Rankings based on all-play record: how each team would have done against all 9 other opponents this week, not just the one they actually faced. 90 total category decisions per team.
Elite Tier
1
The Ragans Administration 69–18–3 cats 9–0 all-play W 7–2
69 cat wins, 9–0 all-play. Second straight perfect week. Cal Raleigh (4 HR), Nick Kurtz (3 HR, 8 R), Aaron Judge (2 HR, .533 OBP), Mike Trout (2 HR, 4 RBI). The rotation went 6 QS at 2.60 ERA and 0.97 WHIP. There is no category Ragans does not own right now.
2
One Ball Two Strikes 51–29–10 cats 7–2 all-play W 6–4
51 cat wins, 7–2 all-play. Garth led the league in R (44) and tied for the QS lead, on the strength of a Foster Griffin waiver-add throwing 7 shutout innings. Matt Olson (3 HR, 9 RBI), Riley Greene (2 HR, .548 OBP). Yamamoto and Griffin both posted QS. Second straight upset of a sim favorite.
Contenders
3
Allahu Alvarez 51–32–7 cats 7–1–1 all-play L 2–7
51 cat wins, 7–1–1 all-play, and somehow lost 2–7. TylerR led the league in saves (6) with Muñoz, Domínguez, and Varland all posting 2. Christian Walker (3 HR, 7 RBI, .440 OBP) and Max Muncy (3 HR, 8 R, .583 OBP) were elite. Then they ran into a Ragans buzzsaw in the only matchup that mattered. Worst H2H luck of the week.
4
Ete Crow 47–37–6 cats 6–2–1 all-play L 4–6
47 cat wins, 6–2–1 all-play. Nolan McLean dropped 17 K. Elly De La Cruz hit 3 HR with 8 RBI. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Ozzie Albies chipped in. Ete would have beaten 6 of the 9 other rosters this week and instead lost 4–6 to Foster Griffin coming off waivers. The all-play tells the truer story.
5
Nick-fil-A 44–36–10 cats 4–4–1 all-play W 6–3
44 cat wins, 4–4–1 all-play. League-leading 14 HR (Caminero, Wood, Caglianone, Goodman). Justin Wrobleski 2 QS, 9 K, 0.69 ERA. Mario beat Keanu straight up in a matchup the sim gave Duke Joe at 65%. Roster luck plus power equals the third sim upset of the week.
Middle of the Pack
6
Rain City Bombers 39–43–8 cats 3–5–1 all-play W 7–3
39 cat wins, 3–5–1 all-play, but a 7–3 actual win. Michael Harris II drove in 11. Skenes (7 IP, 0.00 ERA, 0.14 WHIP), deGrom (10 K), and Imanaga (12.1 IP, 1.05 WHIP) anchored the rotation. Lineup contribution finally matched the pitching for one week.
7
Hey Holmes! 37–49–4 cats 3–5–1 all-play W 8–2
37 cat wins, 3–5–1 all-play, 8–2 H2H win. Michael got the league’s biggest matchup margin while running 9th in the all-play. Bryce Harper (2 HR, 7 RBI), Dansby Swanson (2 HR, 9 RBI), Randy Vásquez (7 IP, 0.00 ERA). The roster played a normal week. The other Michael imploded.
8
Keanu Reeves 33–51–6 cats 2–7 all-play L 3–6
33 cat wins, 2–7 all-play. Worst Keanu week of the season. Max Fried 12 K, 0.00 ERA was a single-start ace. Cristopher Sánchez (10.12 ERA), Gavin Williams (9.00), and Andrew Abbott (11.25) wiped out everything. Drake Baldwin (2 HR, 8 R) and Byron Buxton (3 HR) carried the offense. Two straight weeks below the contender tier; Duke Joe is officially in a slump.
Cellar Dwellers
9
Busch Latte 32–52–6 cats 1–7–1 all-play L 3–7
32 cat wins, 1–7–1 all-play. Rose led the league in SB (11) and put up 13 HR. Seiya Suzuki (4 HR, .483 OBP) and Sal Stewart (2 HR, 10 RBI, 3 SB) were huge. The rotation gave it all back at 5.58 ERA. Second straight week with the bottom-2 all-play.
10
The Buckner Boots 15–71–4 cats 0–9 all-play L 2–8
15 cat wins. Fifteen. Out of 90. The roster that was top-2 in the cumulative power rankings four straight weeks just delivered the worst single-week all-play of the entire 2026 season. Kyle Tucker, Steven Kwan, Adley Rutschman, and Brandon Nimmo combined for 1 HR and 1 RBI. Devin Williams gave up runs at 16.20 ERA. Chris Sale (9 K, 0.00 ERA) was the lone start that worked. Worst week any team has had this year.
