5 Matchups H2H Categories
The marquee matchup is It’s Always Sonny against Allahu Alvarez: the number-one seed, fresh off a fluky 2–7 loss, against the hottest roster in the league. Allahu just posted the best all-play week of the season at 8–0–1 and draws Sonny without Aaron Judge. If the top seed is going to be caught, weeks like this are how it starts.
The IL is the real headline of Week 14. José Ramírez, Aaron Judge, Ronald Acuña Jr., Mike Trout, Francisco Lindor, Brent Rooker, Teoscar Hernández, Elly De La Cruz, and Corey Seager are all sidelined. Half the league’s star power is in street clothes, and the teams that backfill best will steal categories the projections cannot fully price in.
Nick-fil-A sits second in the standings and just turned in the worst week any team has had this year, a 0–9 all-play wipeout. Now it draws a red-hot Keanu side while missing Acuña, Greene, and Glasnow, and the model gives Mario a single category. Second place is about to feel a lot more precarious.
The bottom of the bracket is sorting itself out with the playoffs in view. Busch Latte and The Buckner Boots are both favored despite sitting eighth and sixth, while a gutted Rain City and a luck-fueled Romance try to keep pace. In a six-team playoff field, none of these results are throwaways.
One Ball Two Strikes
Ete Crow
One Ball comes in off a quiet 3–7 loss to Keanu, and it gets tougher before it gets easier: José Ramírez is on the 10-day IL, pulling a chunk of the runs, power, and steals out of Garth’s lineup. The pitching is the calling card here, a staff that posted a 1.24 WHIP last week, and the model leans on it. OBP and the ratios are where One Ball holds the edge.
Ete Crow stole a 6–4 from Rain City last week on the back of six saves, but the roster is banged up: Elly De La Cruz and Mickey Moniak are both on the 10-day IL, gutting the speed and a piece of the offense, while Eury Pérez, Brad Keller, and Matthew Boyd are all shelved. Jace still profiles to take the power and counting categories, but the margins are razor-thin.

It’s Always Sonny
Allahu Alvarez
The number-one seed got mugged last week, a 2–7 loss to Busch despite a league-best 73 strikeouts, the kind of result that is pure bad-draw variance. Now Sonny is shorthanded: Aaron Judge is on the 10-day IL, and Cole Ragans (60-day) and Brandon Woodruff (15-day) are long gone. Even so, the strikeout volume and team speed are real separators in this one.
Allahu is the hottest team in the league, fresh off the best all-play week of the season (8–0–1) and an 8–2 demolition of Buckner behind league-best marks in OBP, saves, and WHIP. Bobby Witt Jr. is day-to-day and worth watching, and Oneil Cruz is on the 10-day IL, but the model still hands TylerR the power categories and a big saves edge.

Nick-fil-A
Keanu Reeves
Nick-fil-A is the number-two seed coming off the worst week any team had this season, 0–9 all-play, and the injury sheet is brutal: Ronald Acuña Jr. and Konnor Griffin on the 10-day IL, Hunter Greene and Tyler Glasnow both on the 60-day. That is a pile of production and rotation missing, and it shows up in the projections, where Mario is an underdog in nine of ten categories.
Keanu rolls in off a clean 7–3 win over One Ball with a league-high 18 homers, and the only injury of note is Max Fried (15-day IL). Duke Joe owns this matchup on paper: huge edges in strikeouts, saves, and quality starts, with the power and OBP on his side too.

Romance Explosion
The Buckner Boots
Romance Explosion backed into a 6–4 win over Nick last week on a 2–6–1 all-play line, the luckiest draw of the week, and now the bill comes due. Brent Rooker and Teoscar Hernández are both on the 10-day IL, and the rotation is thin with Garrett Crochet and Shane Bieber on the 60-day. Michael still profiles to win strikeouts, but not a lot beyond that.
Buckner ran a league-best 2.89 ERA last week and lost anyway, swept aside 2–8 by Allahu, a bad draw more than a bad team. Corey Seager (7-day) and Munetaka Murakami (10-day) are banged up, but the model likes Buckner across the board here, with edges in eight categories including runs, OBP, and a near-lock on saves.

Rain City Bombers
Busch Latte
Rain City’s lineup is decimated: Mike Trout, Francisco Lindor, Will Smith, Roman Anthony, and Liam Hicks are all on the 10-day IL, and Blake Snell is on the 60-day. Even with IL backfills, that is a staggering amount of production to replace, and after a 6.39 ERA in last week’s loss the arms are not bailing anyone out. The model has Taylor as a heavy underdog in the power categories.
Busch Latte is quietly the second-hottest team in the league, an 8–0–1 all-play week capped by a 7–2 takedown of the top seed, with league-highs in RBI, steals, and quality starts. Edwin Díaz (60-day) and Randy Arozarena (10-day) are out, but Rose has the lineup firing: dominant edges in runs, homers, and RBI, plus a near-lock on saves.
